Great design, and splits hardwood logs well. Do need a Tree stump to drill hole in ‘ drill bit supplied’. I would recommend this.
Easy to assemble and stow away flat in shed.
Not heavy duty at all! struggles with even medium sized logs of harder wood like oak. Great for chipping kindling off the edges of logs already split with a maul.
My previous one of these (different supplier but possibly the original Swedish wood splitter) gave up the ghost after about 10 years of use. The bolt thread into the axe head was stripped from constant bashing. This one looks slightly better made to the untrained eye. They are great devices for splitting logs and creating kindling in a safe manner. The most difficult this is drilling the hole so that the post is nice and straight. However it doesn’t matter if it’s a little off.
Easy assembly & a pleasure to use
